I’m in this process to find happiness and find it now. I’m not going to wait until all the planets in the solar system fall into perfect alignment. I’m not even going to wait until next Wednesday. I’m finding my happiness today.
But even in being happy I don’t intend to be the weird looking guy who walks around with a smile permanently plastered across his face. I don’t intend to hug complete strangers and plant movie star kisses on friends. And I don’t intend to get all sappy in expressing my gratitude, but I am going to find a way to do it in keeping with my values.
This is one way I think I can do it – by publishing the occasional post with a couple of links.
Some of the people I mention will have no idea that they have done something for which I feel grateful, and that adds an extra dimension of interest to the idea!
It seems a shame that they should go unrecognized but it probably happens much more than it should.
So here’s the thing… If you link to my site from yours, either in a post or in your blogroll, or you share one of my posts on Stumble, please let me know in the comments or the email ( findhappinessnow [at] gmail [dot] com ) so that I can at least say thank you, sometimes personally and sometimes en masse depending on what’s going on around me at the time.
Having an attitude of gratitude doesn’t mean being a sappy wuss, or selling out, or showing weakness, or being a hippy, or being a suck-up, it’s just a good way to acknowledge the good things in life and focus on the positive.
So here goes:
Thank you to the 466 people who have clicked through to How To Be Rich And Happy (the big banner – top right) from this site. That’s pretty amazing considering how new this site is!
Thank you to Hadi for reading and leaving the first ever comments on this site.
Thank you to the 9 of you who subscribed to my blog through the RSS, and even to the 2 who then unsubcribed because you probably got bored waiting for me to publish another post. I don’t mind, it was just nice that you took the time to do it in the first place.
Thank you to life coach and author of How To Be Rich And Happy, Tim Brownson, for sticking my site in his life coaching blogroll.
Thank you to Shann (sorry Shann I couldn’t find a link to a website or blog) for Stumbling my site.
Thank you to Allyn Hane, whom I’ve never even spoken with or written to. In fact he has no clue I even exist. But Allyn, has a video blog which deals with all manner of internet marketing advice and help. Some of his posts have inspired me to follow through with the online stuff even when I didn’t feel like it.
And if you find happiness through drinking beer (as I sometimes do) then Allyn has started the Big Beer Blog a site dedicated to beer reviews, beer tasting and explaining how to judge beer. It’s a good looking site and one I hope to see do really well.
That will do for now. There is more, but it’ll keep for a future installment of “The Gratitude Attitude”.
I’m still in the middle of writing a long post about the unhappiness in my marriage and how I’ve managed to find marital happiness again. Like I said, it’s not finished yet and I don’t want to rush it. I’ll be back ith that hopefully by the end of the week.
Thanks for reading,
Andy
